PhD student Rutvija Dange performs experiments at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and presents her work on plasma catalysis in a seminar at BNL.

The EuroTech Future Award, a joint distinction of the six universities of science and technology awarded in 2023 for the first time, recognises researchers who have the potential to make a difference in their field and for society at large. Charlotte Vogt (Technion), Zongyao Zhou (EPFL), and Dinesh Krishnamoorthy (TU Eindhoven) received their awards during a festive ceremony in Brussels for their works on catalysis, wastewater recovery, and diabetes.

Chemical & Engineering news (C&EN) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) announces its Talented 12 class of 2023: "extraordinary young researchers who are inspiring the next generation of chemists".

The Beilby Medal and Prize are awarded annually to a scientist or engineer to recognize substantial work of exceptional practical significance in chemical engineering, applied materials science, energy efficiency, or a related field, and was awarded to Charlotte in 2023 for her work in the field of catalysis. It is administered in rotation by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI).

Noam Zyser presents her poster at Operando VII in Switzerland - May 2023

Operando VII took place from 7-11 May in Grindelwald, Switserland. This conference aims to bring researchers together to discuss the progress of operando methodologies, i.e. characterization of functional materials in their working state.

Our lab is finally ready! - March 2023

After two years of planning and building, the Vogt lab is finally ready. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who worked endlessly on this project, the project managers, the dean of Chemistry, and of course to all of the faculty members of the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry who have housed us, and helped us in one way or another over the past 2 years. Let's get to work!

Group trip to Berlin to visit the UniSysCat excellence cluster universities - February 2023

Part of the Vogt group travelled to Berlin, as part of the UniSysCat Clara Immerwahr award. The students had a chance to present their work in a binational symposium, we had fruitful and intense discussions at a.o. groups of the Fritz Haber Institute, TU Berlin, and Freie Universiteit Berlin, and are very grateful to the UniSysCat excellence cluster for this opportunity.

The group's first beamtrip - November 2023

The first group beamtrip, to the SuperXAS beamline of the Swiss Light Source took place. We spent 5,5 full days performing operando electrocatalytic experiments relevant to several different reactions.
